Nebraska Farm Bureau Member Health Plans

The Nebraska Farm Bureau Member Health Plan, developed by Nebraska Farm Bureau and Medica, is unique and provides personalized coverage for farmers, ranchers, and agribusinesses. Many farmers, ranchers, and agribusiness owners need comprehensive health coverage at an affordable price. These policies are offered exclusively by Farm Bureau Financial Services agents in Nebraska.

We believe that on average, expected premium cost of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Member Health Plan will be less than the expected premium cost of the current individual market, saving you money.

Eligibility Requirements

Eligible members are those:

  1. Engaged in the agricultural industry in the State of Nebraska;
    1. Principal Business is Production Agriculture in the state of Nebraska; or
    2. Owns land and rents or leases it to a person whose Principal Business is Production Agriculture in the state of Nebraska, where the proceeds of such lease or rental constitute a Substantial Portion of the landowner’s gross income; or
    3. Principal Business consists of providing support directly to persons engaged in Production Agriculture in the state of Nebraska in the form of services or inputs Essential to Production Agriculture and whose Principal Business has less than 50 employees.
  2. For the Policy year commencing on January 1, 2020: Is in good standing with the Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation:
    1. since August 31, 2019;
    2. since December 5, 2019, and was covered under the Nebraska Farm Bureau Member Health Plan in 2019;
    3. since December 5, 2019, and whose common-law employer:
      1. has been a member in good standing of the Nebraska Farm Bureau Federation since August 31, 2019, and
      2. will not offer group health coverage to its employees in 2020; and
  3. Elects to purchase a Policy and executes a Consortium application.
2020 Open Enrollment – November 1, 2019 – December 15, 2019
